These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website at charmoptical.ca, our online booking platform at see.charmoptical.ca, and all related services, including in-store purchases, eye examinations, and optical products (collectively, the "Services").
By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.
Charm Optical is a licensed optical dispensary and eye care provider located at 5035 Ellerslie Road SW, Edmonton, Alberta T6X 1X2, Canada. We are registered and operate in compliance with the laws of the Province of Alberta and the regulations of the Alberta College of Optometrists and the College of Opticians of Alberta.
You must be at least 18 years of age to use our Services independently. Minors under 18 may use our Services with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. By using our Services, you represent that you meet these requirements.
All eye examinations are conducted by independently practising optometrists in accordance with Alberta health regulations. Charm Optical does not provide medical diagnoses or treatment beyond the scope of optometric practice.
When you book an appointment through our platform:
We assist patients in submitting claims to eligible insurance providers. Accepted providers include Alberta Blue Cross, Canada Life, Manulife, Desjardins, Great-West Life, AISH, Alberta Works, and others. Please verify your coverage details with your insurer before your appointment. Charm Optical is not responsible for denied claims or discrepancies in benefit coverage.
Warranties do not cover damage caused by misuse, accidental breakage, normal wear, or unauthorized repairs.
All content on our website -- including text, images, logos, graphics, and design -- is the property of Charm Optical or its licensors and is protected under Canadian copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission.
Your use of our Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information in compliance with Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Patient health information collected during eye examinations is maintained by the attending optometrist in accordance with the Health Information Act (HIA) of Alberta. This information is kept strictly confidential and is only shared as required for your care or as permitted by law.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of our Services shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Edmonton, Alberta.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of our Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
