Acuvue is one of the most widely prescribed contact lens brands in Canada, and Charm Optical stocks the everyday favourites right here in south Edmonton. Whether your optometrist put you in daily-disposable Oasys 1-Day for grab-and-go convenience or monthly Vita for all-day comfort, you can order the exact box on your prescription and collect it on Ellerslie Road — usually the same or next business day.

Because we're a family-owned optical clinic and not a warehouse, a licensed optician checks that the base curve, diameter and power match your prescription before you walk out. We direct bill most Alberta insurance plans, so many customers pay little or nothing out of pocket, and we price-match online retailers on the same product.

Acuvue: common questions

Are Acuvue contact lenses daily or monthly?

Both. Acuvue makes two families we carry. Acuvue Oasys 1-Day is a daily-disposable lens — you open a fresh pair each morning and throw them out at night, with no cleaning or cases. Acuvue Vita is a monthly-replacement lens you wear during the day and store in solution overnight, replacing the pair every month.

What's the difference between Acuvue Oasys 1-Day and Acuvue Vita?

Oasys 1-Day is a single-use daily lens, so it's the lowest-maintenance option and a good choice for allergies, sports, or occasional wear. Acuvue Vita is a monthly silicone-hydrogel lens designed for consistent all-day comfort over a full month, which usually works out to a lower cost per day for full-time wearers. Your optometrist will recommend the right one based on your eyes and how often you wear lenses.

Which Acuvue lenses are made for astigmatism?

We stock Acuvue Oasys 1-Day for Astigmatism (daily) and Acuvue Vita for Astigmatism (monthly). These are toric lenses, which means they're weighted to stay oriented correctly and correct the blur caused by astigmatism. Your contact lens prescription will list a cylinder and axis value if you need a toric lens.

Do I need a prescription to order Acuvue lenses?

Yes. In Alberta you need a valid contact lens prescription from an optometrist to buy contact lenses. A contact lens prescription is different from a glasses prescription — it includes measurements like base curve, diameter and power for each eye. If yours has expired, you can book a contact lens exam and fitting with us by appointment.

How do I order Acuvue lenses and pick them up in Edmonton?

Order online and pick up at our store on Ellerslie Road SW — most orders are ready the same or next business day. We also ship across Canada, with free delivery on orders over $100. First online order? Use code Charmcontacts for $5 off.

Can you match a lower price I found online?

Yes. We price-match online retailers — same brand, same product, lower price, guaranteed. You get the value of an online price plus a licensed optician on-site and direct insurance billing to Alberta Blue Cross, Canada Life, Desjardins, AISH, Alberta Works and more.
