Contact Lens Fittings in Edmonton

Find the right lenses for your eyes at Charm Optical on Ellerslie Road.

What Is a Contact Lens Fitting?

A contact lens fitting is a short appointment where our optometrist evaluates your eyes specifically for contacts. We measure your corneal curvature, assess tear film quality, and check for conditions like dry eye or astigmatism. Based on the results, we recommend a lens type, brand, and size tailored to you.

You leave with trial lenses to test for a few days. We follow up to make sure everything feels right before finalizing your prescription. The whole process takes about 20 minutes on top of your eye exam.

Before You Book — Please Note

We do not currently offer insertion and removal training for first-time contact lens wearers. Our fitting service is designed for patients who have experience wearing contacts and are looking for a new prescription, a brand switch, or an updated fit.

Patients under 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for their contact lens fitting appointment.

Common Questions

Do I need a fitting if I already wear contacts? +

If you are switching brands or it has been over two years, yes. Your eyes change over time, and the wrong fit can cause dryness, discomfort, or reduced vision. A quick check ensures your current lenses still work.

Can I order contacts online after my fitting? +

Yes. Once you have a valid prescription, order anytime from our online store. Free shipping across Canada on orders over $100, or pick up at our Ellerslie Road location.

Do you offer training for first-time wearers? +

At this time, we do not provide insertion and removal training for first-time contact lens wearers. Our fitting service is designed for patients who have experience with contacts and are looking for a new prescription, brand switch, or updated fit.

Can my teen get a contact lens fitting? +

Patients under 17 are welcome for contact lens fittings, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the appointment.
